Cutting out the band members

Using the quick selection tool and magnetic Lasso tool i cut out the whole band. For the mask i used the plugin 'KnockOut 2'

Evaluation

I believe that everything went for this project and i had achieved some very good feedback.

However i could have improved it by making the band members the main attraction. The Light in the middle of the image took all the attention and the members didn't appear on the image as well as i hoped.

The text and the background mixed very well together and it didn't clash. However the text looked like it didn't belong there and i could have used an outline text. I made this on the school computer and didn't have the permissions to install brushes and fonts...

The band members didn't have enough color and i could have put a lens flare on it to make them stand out more. I could have increased the size of the band members.

I also helped out with Ethan's photo and it turned out quite well. However if we made the glow on the turntable a little bit lower the image would have turned out great.

Moodboard image:

I made two moodboard images and on both of them i used a mosaic tile effect on the background making it have renaissance feel. I added a human skateboard as it looked futuristic and fun. As a we tried to make it as obvious as ever, we are a techno band and i felt that technology and Electronics could help suggest that so i decided to have a Tron theme for our Album cover. We had many images as all the band members did one individually and we had a hard choice choosing. However we felt that Me and Ethan's image were too similar.

My Moodboard does not exactly portray my living style and i should add more hobbies. My actual hobbies differ from the hobbies that i am trying to portray and so i had a difficult time choosing what image could represent me. On the way we discovered new inspiration which was 'Troll Physics' these comics were extremely funny and we had put some of the ideas brought up in the comic and had placed it onto our album cover.

Tron Grid.

This took me a VERY long time to make. I could only finish it off at school as i didn't have the band member images on my laptop at home so i had to change the text and add the band members in at school. This meant that the outline font that i had used originally would now be gone and i would not be able to use it ever again. The response from most of the classmates were very positive however i hadn't placed the attention to the band members and so this was almost a failure. The background and glow had taken all the attention and people had to 'look again' to see the band members.

Finally got the image size for the Portable devices! We have many more images to come!

The Making of Tron GRID

I had SOOOOO many layers on this and it got so confusing. However it turned out quite well...

I did most of it on my laptop at home as i could install custom fonts and brushes. However this image didn't need brushes or fonts as it was quite easy to make... The grids were very annoying as you had to move each and every single grid on its own...

Part 3

We have gotten inspired by a Tron tutorial and decided to make an attempt in making the photo. It turned out to be great however, it took us along time to make it because of technical problems and a shortage of time. We also loved the movie 'Tron Legacy' which is also why we made a tron inspired photo. We also belived that Sci Fi went well with Techno which is ALSO why we made a Tron photo. Well it seems like we had alot of reason to make this photograph!

Part 2

On Day two we started working on our first album cover and we came up with a TRON inspired photo which i have uploaded to photobucket.

Link will be posted. I have worked on my moodboard and came up with this! I am a big fan for Techno and eletronic music. We also saw a picture of a funny bear in a costume and dancing. We decided to put a bear head ontop of the DJ and it came out looking pretty good. In one day we came out with 2 photos!
